about us

The Kealakekua Forest Nursery opened in August 2019 and is now the largest native plant nursery on the Hawai'i Island. We specialize in growing native trees and shrubs for restoration and conservation projects, including koa, ‘iliahi (sandalwood), a‘ali‘i, mamane, naio, ‘ōhi‘a, and kolea, among many others.

In the past two years, we have grown over 200,000 native seedlings for local restoration projects and have another 70,000 currently growing in our nursery. We have nursery capacity to handle orders ranging in size, with a requested minimum order of 50 plants.
